Dale Cohen is a unique creative voice behind a realm of interior design, merging architectural elegance and distinctive decor.  She is trained as an architect and has spent the past 20 years specializing on interior environments, her work spans from the interior architecture (gut renovations including plumbing/electrical/audio visual/cabinetry, etc) to furnishings and art selection.  A respected industry thought leader, Ms. Cohen is a sought-after speaker, a university adjunct professor, and has a career-long dedication to giving back to the architecture community.

Holding a degree in Bachelor’s of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan and a Masters of Architecture from Yale, Cohen’s journey is marked by rich experiences. She honed her craft in revered architectural studios in France and the Netherlands, then returned to Yale’s Construction Management department, overseeing Richard Serra’s installation and the British Art Center’s re-glazing. Transiting to education, she taught architectural design at UCLA  and Woodbury University. 

Returning to the East Coast in 2000, Cohen enriched her repertoire. At Ingrao, Inc. she applied her architectural skill to a 35,000 sq ft Greenwich home at Drake Design, followed by spearheaded Gracie Mansion’s restoration under the Bloomberg Administration, as the team’s Senior Designer and Team Lead.

Ms. Cohen’s creations graced prestigious platforms including the Southampton Designer Showhouse and Holiday House Hamptons. Notably, she stood as the sole designer for the Watchcase Factory Art + Design Installation in 2016 commissioned by the developer Cape Advisors.

Fueling intellectual discourse, Ms. Cohen established an in-house lecture series christened “The History of Architecture in Three Parts” under the aegis of the Hearst Design Group, a platform from which her insights were shared with Kate Kelly Smith, the dynamic publisher of Hearst. Her resonating voice has resonated across prestigious events including the Architectural Digest Home Show, the Small Space Living symposium, and the History of the Kitchen conferences.

Committed to service, Ms. Cohen’s footprint of influence extends into her community leadership. Her stewardship of the AIANY Interiors Committee is remembered for a transformative reinvention, expanding the committee’s reach manifold. Her dedication to nurturing interior designers with architectural foundations led to visionary programming. Today she serves on the Architecture Dialogues Committee, of AIANY Cocktails and Conversation fame.  Notably, her imprint also embellishes the Yale Alumni Day of Service Project with the inception of THE ARCHITECT IS IN, a pioneering cross-generational and global initiative uniting Yale-trained architects with Not for Profit organizations for collaborative design endeavors.
